Mowin' Man

Each week Nathan looks forward to watching his daddy mow the yard. We typically look out the playroom window, knocking and waving as Jason passes by with the mower. Today Nate decided to take over the lawn mowing duties while Jason took a water break. He requested his mini mower and his sunglasses (a new love) and was hilariously focused on getting that lawn mowed! Not only was he very serious about the task, but he pushed and turned his little mower like a grownup. Not even the promise of a popsicle could lure him away from the job...

Love 'em

(and not just because they're both sporting TCU t-shirts)

Tool Time

Feeling inspired by his pal Handy Manny...

...Nathan set out to fix things around the house this morning.

Even his backpack needed fixing...

Good work, Turner!

All that fixing wore Nate out! He managed to find
a pacifier somewhere (I'm convinced he has a secret stash).

Work and Play

Recently, Nathan has started taking on some responsibilities around the house (Start 'em early, right? Just kidding. His desire to help out prompted us to think of a few small tasks that he can do all by himself. He gets downright giddy about his Big Boy jobs – if only that enthusiasm would last through his teenage years!). In addition to helping set the dinner table, Nate gets to feed his puppies each day. I cannot begin to describe the thrill this brings him...

And, just so you don't think we're an all-work-and-no-play kind of family, here's a picture from our very fun playgroup outing this morning...

(My big guy is actually the youngest in our group)

Chatterbox

Nathan has quite a few things to say these days...

Among his favorite (discernible) words lately are crash, outside, truck, sit, more, and ice. Almost more entertaining is listening to him speak in his own language. There is much talk of "ish" mixed with various other sounds. Oh, how I wish I knew what he is thinking when he chatters to himself – especially when he makes himself laugh!

(Gets me every time!)

Sunday fun

This morning after church we met Aunt Jen for lunch at Fudrucker's. She was in Dallas this weekend for a baby shower, and we were so happy she was able to spend time with us as well! She just returned home from a five-week trip to the beach (and has the amazing tan to prove it!) Good food, great company.

Nathan desperately wanted to help Jason wash the cars after his nap, but it just wasn't working well. We came inside to paint instead, which turned out to be not just a distraction from the car washing, but a newly discovered obsession. Nate would spread squirts of paint around with his brushes and then ask for "mo!" Amazingly, he managed to keep all of the paint on the paper. Whew.

Party Time

Just a few fun pictures from Audrey's 2nd birthday party today...

17 months (plus a few days)

On Tuesday our little man reached the 17-month mark! The past several weeks of growth have been so much fun for us to watch. Nathan's vocabulary and understanding of the world around him have grown by leaps and bounds, and Jason and I are increasingly aware that our words and actions are under constant observation. To say that he entertains us would not even begin to cover it! (nor would to say that we love him)

Milla Monday

Yesterday morning sweet Milla invited us to play at her house. Nathan and I had such fun! The kiddos finger painted, played with the sand table, and swam in the pool. Milla showed Nate all of her toys (and shared them exceptionally well). Nate played so hard that he slept a whopping three hours when we got home!

Oh, popsicles!

Look at Milla's adorable little braid...
Here are Ashlee's great pictures.
