Stats and Such

At Nathan's 3 year checkup on Monday we learned that he is now 41" tall (98th percentile) and weighs about 40 lbs. (97th percentile). I can't help but wonder if Luke will be a big guy like his brother (it definitely feels that way — ha!).

Costume Box

This special box is filled with cool costumes that Aunt Heather gave Nathan for Christmas. Inside are all the things a little boy needs to transform himself into a pilot, construction worker, doctor, astronaut, police officer, Buzz Lightyear, Spiderman, or Superman.


Nate has a great time pretending as he puts everything on. Often he'll wear different pieces from several costumes at once, but today he let me help him get dressed...


Once Nathan became Buzz, he chased Buddy mercilessly around the house. Buddy loved it, but I think he almost had a heart attack (poor little guy is not a puppy anymore!)

Recent and Random

I have done a pitiful job updating the blog recently, though it has not been for lack of snapping pictures or intending to sit down and post them for our families to see. I am just wiped out, plain and simple.

Nathan, however, is as full of energy as ever — ha! In the few months before turning 3, he seemed to shed all traces of toddlerhood to become a full-fledged kiddo. Here is a peek at a few of the things he's been up to lately...

The growing number of holes in his pants are proof positive that little boys play hard! (I think I need to heed my friend Jen's advice and start reinforcing the knees of his jeans)...

I don't think he will be passing many 4T pants down to his little brother!

And, after nearly two months of working hard at having good behavior, Nathan filled his marble jar! The activity he chose as his reward was meeting Daddy for lunch and a cupcake...

Party Time!

Nathan had a blast with his buddies at his 3rd birthday party on Saturday. He picked a construction theme (check out the awesomely huge sign Jason brought home from work)...

We set up several activity centers for the kiddos in our garage. After waking up to cold drizzle on Saturday morning, we were really grateful to have planned on being indoors this year. You just never know what the crazy Texas weather will bring in March!

I have amazing friends.

It's true. They are thoughtful, caring, and so much fun. They have helped me navigate the first years of motherhood, though I value them for so much more than their playdate companionship or discipline advice. I owe a great deal of my sanity to these wonderful girls! On Saturday they hosted a beautiful baby shower to celebrate my little Luke. I was (and still am) completely overwhelmed by all that they did for us.

My family and friends were so incredibly generous, and what was supposed to be a little "sprinkle" shower felt much more like a downpour! I am so grateful for all the love that surrounds me.
