Did I mention he likes balloons?

Yep, even in the bathtub...
He's a funny little guy.

I Stand Corrected

I'm beginning to rethink the "independence is good" statement made in the previous post...

Caught!

No remorse.

Recent Lessons Learned

1. Actually jogging with the jogging stroller is complicated (apparently arm movement plays a bigger role in running than I realized).

2. "Toddler Chic" is a totally legitimate decorating style (or so I have convinced myself).

3. Needing me less does not equate to loving me less. Independence is good!

4. Do not fear children's resale stores. Embrace them. Love them. Do a happy dance when you discover a new one.

5. A perfectly clean house means we aren't having nearly enough fun.

6. The temptation to compare your child's development to other children's is a little monster that should (most often) be ignored (unless you have genuine concerns). Every child is unique, and that's a really wonderful thing.

7. A child prizes few things more than your enthusiastic, undivided attention.

Good Morning

My little walking man ("cleaning" with tissues)

I lovingly dub this the "Belly/Booty Picture."

"Can I help with the laundry, too?"
"Actually, playing trucks is WAY more fun."

Later, at the park...
Bark mulch strikes again! And yet I can't get him to eat
normal things like spaghetti...go figure.
A much more suitable snack.
(Don't worry, Uncle Ben. I will save some for you!)

Park Pals

We were so excited to play with Milla and her mom Ashlee, our friends from Little Gym, this morning at Bear Creek Park. Our last adventure together was a trip to the zoo, which was sadly cut short by thunder storms. Thankfully, today's weather was much nicer! Nathan was thrilled to have all kinds of new playground equipment to explore and was equally entertained by all of the "big kids" playing around him. I did have to fish bark mulch out of his little mouth at one point, which was a first. Oh, to be the mother of a curious little boy...

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend with our families in Houston. Somehow I returned home with far fewer pictures than I thought I'd taken (chalk it up to the cold medicine, I suppose). We kept having to remind ourselves that this was Nathan's second Easter.

He was less than two-weeks-old last year.
(Weren't his little bunny feet the sweetest?)

This year...
