Little Sluggers

Jason took time off from work on Monday to attend Nathan's last Little Sluggers baseball class for parent participation day. It was so precious to see how proud Nate was to have his daddy there. They practiced several skills (batting, throwing, catching) and also got to chase each other around the bases, which Nathan loved. It was a special morning for both of my guys...

Friends

We are so fortunate to have been able to spend time with many wonderful friends recently. Whatever gripes I may have about where we live on a grumpy day (you know, like when it is 110ยบ outside), I feel truly grateful to be right where I am because it has enabled us to know great people who we deeply care about.

Baby love

My little man reached the 5 month mark on Tuesday. He is just beginning to venture into the world of solid foods and is hard at work on his second tooth. He explores constantly and reaches out to touch whatever he can...and then puts it directly into his mouth. He's starting to get up onto his hands and knees and rock back and forth, but I'm hoping that we still have a while before actual crawling occurs (funny how that changes with the second child, isn't it?). We are so blessed to have our sweet Luke!

Just Today

We are finally enjoying some beautiful weather after an especially scorching summer. It's so nice to be able to take both of the boys outside, and I have a feeling that we will be spending much of our time there in the days ahead. Luke's first tooth pushed through last week at just a few days shy of his five month birthday — poor little guy has been so tortured by his gums! I had forgotten how miserable teething can be. Thankfully, despite his teething pain, he's still my sweet, smiley boy...

Nathan was excited to have us all outside...

rather than like this (which is how I managed to let him play outside and keep Brother cool over the summer)...

Later Nate had fun learning about the magic of vinegar and baking soda (he loves to read the story of The Magic School Bus traveling inside of a volcano). Mt. Olivier erupted over and over again until all of the vinegar and baking soda were gone...
Who knows...

Picture Post

The number of pictures I have been meaning to share has officially become overwhelming. They are just little moments captured during our days with no real common thread other than that they are of my two favorite little people in life...
