Slice of Life

Things have been more than a little hectic and out of the ordinary lately as we prepare for our move. Packing, purging, fixing, cleaning (and maintaining the cleanliness) with two little people is enough to make you batty! Just when I begin to feel completely overwhelmed by the chaos, these silly boys provide me with some much-needed perspective.
........

I love that "cool" and "dorky" are not in the 4-year-old vernacular. You just need to wear special equipment to go to the nursery because, you know, there is hard and dangerous work to be done there.

Luke's adventures in self-feeding...

Nathan's M.O.: Sneak into our bedroom in the wee hours of the morning and bury himself in as many pillows as he can find on the floor. Go back to sleep. Scare us half to death when we step out of bed.

The boys love to play at the sand volleyball courts near our house (they are brand new, so the sand is really clean). I know it must seem that I am a glutton for punishment, but they have so much fun when they have the freedom to get good and dirty...

(plus, it's an awesome place for baby sensory play!)
Luke likes to color (and will go a surprisingly long time before trying to eat the crayon)...

and he loves his books...

Can you believe he will be 1 year old in less than a month?

And at his brother's recent 4-year well visit we learned that Nathan now measures 44" tall and weighs 44 lbs. That puts him in the 99th percentile for height and the 94th percentile for weight...yep, he's still my big guy!

Four

Our sweet, funny, spirited big boy is 4 years old today!

We also celebrated with friends a little over a week ago at an awesome play space run by a local church. Nathan chose a theme of, you guessed it, monster trucks...

Happy, happy birthday, Nathan!
We love you more than words can express.
