Happy Halloween

When Nathan woke up (way too early) this morning, he climbed under the covers next to me and said, "Mom, I'm so excited! Today is Halloween!" His excitement was quickly replaced by disappointment upon learning that, although it was dark outside (way. too. early.), it was not time to go trick-or-treating yet.

He's 3 1/2 going on 12, apparently... Our other little pumpkin...

Pumpkin Munchkins

Beautiful autumn weather and great company made for a wonderful trip to the pumpkin patch today...

And a shot from yesterday's Halloween party and parade at preschool. Nathan was dressed as Finn McMissle but decided to tell everyone he was "gray Spiderman" — ha!

Six Months

Six sweet months with our little man have flown by. Luke now measures about 28" in length (91st percentile) and weighs 19 lbs., 6 oz. (80th percentile — a little lighter than big brother was at this age). He has become a man on the move! Rare are the moments when Luke is content to sit still in my lap or be held in my arms. He would much rather reach, touch, taste, grab, army crawl, jump, or roll. If something across the room catches his eye, he gets to it... fast! Nathan is quickly learning that any toys left on the floor are fair game for his little brother. We have been calling him "Spooky Lukey" for Halloween, but "Smiley" would probably be more accurate...

Nathan lives to make his brother laugh...

Pumpkin Farm

Our tradition of visiting the Pumpkin Express was foiled this year by the city of Argyle, which is installing a new water line right through the property. Clearly they didn't ask for our opinion on the matter — ha! Actually, being forced to think outside of the box is often a good thing, and it led us to try a neat little place called Mainstay Farm just south of Fort Worth. It was an awesome place for kids and had many cool things to do. We truly could have been there all day. I failed miserably at taking pictures since I was carrying Luke, but suffice it to say we had a blast and will surely be going back!

Nathan enjoyed driving the pedal cars most of all...
