First day of school

Nathan had a great first day at his new preschool today. I tried to snap a quick picture or two on our way out the door this morning, but my boy has little patience for posed pictures. He was excited!

"No more pictures, Mom — let's get in the car." (I'm not ready for him to look so old!)

And, because I like to torture my sentimental self apparently, here's a look back at his previous "first days"...

Nathan really missed his brother today and was eager to love on him when we picked him up this afternoon. So precious.

So long, Summer

Although it is still three thousand degrees outside, today marks the official end of summertime in our household. Nathan begins preschool again tomorrow, and I am saying lots of prayers that he will love his new school as much as he did the old one. Luke and I are also starting our "mommy and me" class at The Little Gym this week — his first real activity, which I think he is really going to love.

There's nothing like waiting until the last possible minute to share a few of our summer adventures. I've done a miserable job of taking pictures over the last few months, so please forgive the randomness of what's below!

Nathan decided to re-tile the fireplace in our breakfast room. Awesome.
