"Old Married"

Last night while I was tucking Nathan in for bed he began playing with the pearl earrings I was wearing. He has always rubbed or tugged on his ears to soothe himself, and I suppose it was equally comforting to touch mine while he listened to prayers and bedtime stories. Several minutes of examining my earrings eventually led to the following conversation...

Me: Did you know these are special earrings that Daddy gave me?

Nathan: When you were married.

Me: (amazed that he remembered) Yes! That's right! He gave them to me when we got married.

Nathan: (matter-of-factly) You are married. But now you are old married.

.......

(For the record, Jason says he still loves me like we're new married.)

Snow, Take Two

Today we had another beautiful snowfall. The temperatures are so much nicer, so we bundled up and had FUN playing outside. After four days of being housebound, it was really great to let Nathan just run around and be a wild man. He was thrilled!

Snow Days

We have had a bone-chilling few days here in north Texas to say the least. The frigid weather has brought with it plenty of ice and snow, which we played in for a little while yesterday morning and afternoon. Though I love snow, I am just not made for single-digit temperatures and biting wind gusts! Even with the rest of his body was well bundled, Nathan's little cheeks and nose didn't last long in the bitter cold...

We're trying our best to combat cabin fever. Since Nate has rediscovered his love for Thomas the train, we turned the kitchen sink into the "Sodor Steamworks" with a little food coloring and some bubbles and paint brushes. I love his little imagination! The little bit of mess was completely worth it...
