Egg Hunt, etc.

This morning we took Nathan to his very first Easter egg hunt. The children in his age group (0-4 years...a pretty wide range) were given an area of the playground to gather their eggs from, which meant that Nate had no interest at all in picking up eggs. He was far too busy trying to climb up the slides and play on the equipment. I considered this a blessing since 3 and 4-year-olds can move much faster than our little guy is able to. He could not have cared less that a grand total of 2 eggs made it into his basket. We stayed at the park after the hunt ended to spend time with our wonderful neighbors and their 2 children. Their son is just 3 months older than Nate, and I hope one day they will be best buddies.

Since one visit to the park simply isn't enough for one day, we headed out this afternoon to play some more. One of the things I love most about our community is that there are half a dozen parks within walking distance of our house. This one was designed especially for toddlers, though I have a hunch that Jason might have enjoyed it just as much as Nathan did:

Nate wanted to hold my hand as we walked home. I'm pretty sure my heart has now quadrupled in size.
