School Program

Today I was so thrilled to visit Nathan's Mother's Day Out class for a "Music, Movement, and Me" family event. It was a chance for moms and dads to participate with the children, which is a rare treat for the two-year-old class (since they are working on developing independence). We played games and did lots of singing, and every few minutes Nathan would look up at me and touch my face saying, "Mommy's here!"

When he came into the room and saw me he shouted, "Mommy! HI MOMMY!"

What a blessing this first "school" experience has been for both Nate and me. I feel that our church program has really nurtured his little mind and heart.

We also received a progress report today, which indicated how Nathan is doing with various skills. On the back his height and weight measurements were listed. I was floored by the fact that he began school in January weighing only 29 lbs. and he now weighs 40! Forty. As in, 4-0. That is a lot of growing in just 4 short months!

11 pounds in 4 months! That's insanity! What's really insane is how much his verbal skills have grown in that time. You are doing a great job mama!
