Ice

This weekend we took Nathan to see "ICE!" with Charlie Brown, which is an amazing display of sculpted ice at the Gaylord Texan. Though the exhibit was completely child-friendly, Nate was more than a little overwhelmed (we clearly don't need to worry about saving up for Disney World any time soon — ha!). My poor guy decided he was scared before we even walked through the doors — and, by golly, he stuck to it!

The rooms of the exhibit are kept at a very chilly 9º to prevent the ice from melting, so visitors are given parkas to wear (though, when you're pregnant, 9º doesn't feel half bad!)...

At the end of the exhibit there was a beautiful nativity scene also carved in ice. A narrator told the story of Jesus' birth as various parts of the scene were illuminated...

You'll be shocked, I'm sure, to know that Nathan much preferred watching the model trains inside the hotel to our ICE experience. What can I say? I tried...
