Good Times

Noni and PawPaw came to visit us on Wednesday and Thursday while Charlie was away for Spring Break, and oh, what a fun few days we had! On Wednesday we had dinner and ice cream (which Nathan gobbled up) at the Town Center. Nate was mesmerized by the water fountain and children playing around it:

On Thursday morning we headed to Fort Worth to ride a train along the Trinity River. PawPaw had been dying to take Nate for a train ride, and the weather could not have been more beautiful:

The train stops along the way so you can buy popcorn and drinks. Nathan decided to practice his walking skills and have a little snack:

The ride ended near the zoo, so we braved the crowds to see the animals (SO worth it!). It just so happens that Wednesday and Thursday were record-breaking attendance days at the Fort Worth Zoo (a reflection of how amazing the weather was and the fact that it was Spring Break). Out of the thousands of people there, we happened to run into a friend who plans events for the zoo. She invited us to join a small private group for a behind-the-scenes meeting with some of the animals used in their "Arc" program. We met baby and adult penguins, an enormous dog, and some beautiful birds. We decided to make our exit just before they brought out the giant snake! Nathan was so tickled by the whole experience:

"Smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave."
