Wednesday Playgroup - Updated

For those who haven't seen the original post, feel free to scroll down and see the pictures (I know that is why you're here). For those who have seen the post and are wondering "Update?"... It has been a LONG time since I (Jason) have contributed to the blog, but since I don't take pictures, my words alone usually just seem superfluous rather than contributory. I want to take a moment and share some of my thoughts about this stage of Nate's life, though.

These days are definitely some of the best yet. When I talk to Carrie on the phone and Nate knows it's me, I can hear him say, "DaDa!" in a loud excited voice that makes me smile every time. When I come home he says it, too. So awesome. He is really talking up a storm these days and repeats words all the time, most times when you aren't even trying to get him to repeat. I was reading him his football book ("fuh-ball" happens to be one of his many new words) and he repeated most of the football terms on each page. He said touchdown, catch, rush, and would point to the ball on each page and say "fuh-ball." Obviously I am doubly proud of him for saying so many new words that just so happen to be related to football. His desire to communicate is so great. He nods "yes" and "no" (mostly "no"), and can really let us know what he wants. He is still loving, as always, and cracks us up constantly. As fun as all of his new skills are, it is bittersweet to know that he is growing up so fast. You really do want to hold on to time more and more as they grow, but you also can't wait to see what they will do tomorrow.

OH! I also wanted to share one of his new words that melts Carrie's heart: "meow" (sounds more like "mowww"). We took out the fall decorations, one of which was a little Halloween cat. Carrie taught him that cats say "meow," and he now says every time he sees that little cat.

Sorry for the rambling, just wanted to share. Now back to the regularly scheduled blog-isode.

...................................................

We spent a damp, chilly morning inside with our friends at Choo Choo Station, which I'm quite certain is Nate's version of paradise...

Such fun!
