The other night while waiting for gelato we overheard a father giving his son a quite impressive "talkin' to." The gist of it was that his son needed to be more respectful to his mother, and when she asked him to do something he was to do it and not argue. During this lecture he delivered what I felt was a little gem of parenting, so here it is, a Father's Day edition of Words to Live By:
"When your mother tells you to do something, it isn't her way of bringing up a topic for discussion. When she tells you to do something the only 'BUT' is yours moving to do what she told you."
Thank you, Sir, for such a great bit of parental wisdom.
Speaking of Father's Day, mine was pretty awesome. Carrie and Nathan know how to celebrate a dad. I am sure there will be a great post of our Father's Day activities later today. It involved awesome banana pancakes, gifts, the museum, and a superhero (cape and all). Stay tuned.
Happy Valentine's Day!
